Details:
The Battaglia Research Group, is interested in studying and developing self-assembled structures formed in water exploiting weak supramolecular interactions such as hydrophobic effect, hydrogen bonds, and columbic forces. They often take inspiration from biological structures such as extracellular matrix, cells and virus and try to reverse engineer their functionalities. This is achieved by working closely with synthetic chemists combining effective molecular and macromolecular design with our supramolecular engineering approach.
